Anyone experiencing changes to how they orgasm?

I’m peri. Not on HRT yet. Still have a bouncing libido and no dryness, but I’m finding it much more difficult to climax. Has anyone had similar? Is it a menopause thing?

Be interesting to see a response to this. I am experiencing similar. Mid-40s.

40, been in peri through my thirties (had treatment for endo too which put me in chemical menopause for 12 months) and I'm finding it super hard, but I don't know if it's my T2 diabetes, my other health conditions, medication or menopause.

Yes, im 2 years post menopause at 50, im finding it very difficult to orgasm, I feel like avoiding sex now so I don’t have to put myself through the hassle of trying to have an orgasm only to end up frustrated

Touty · 19/06/2023 15:53

Im also taking anti D’s which don’t help the situation

RestingMurderousFace · 19/06/2023 16:04

I had that. Sex felt like a lot of effort for not much reward. Been on HRT for a year and my orgasms are as strong as they used to be. Suspect it was the testosterone that helped.

RamblingEclectic · 19/06/2023 16:18

Yes, it's something I've noticed. It's fluctuated a lot over the last few years, but it's been particularly...awkward/different the last couple of months. Like I get to the point sometimes where I'm not sure what's going on.

OatALot · 19/06/2023 16:41

It's frustrating because my drive hasn't decreased at all, but I do think - can I be bothered? I'm not on HRT or anything at the moment.

thaneofglamour · 19/06/2023 17:05

Ermm...mine have become excruciatingly painful so it's not very tempting to get excited to say the least.

In my sixties, menopause decades ago, no HRT of anything else, I appear to have found an amazing well spring of energy for non-PIV orgasms. I rarely climaxed through PIV alone and thought that was it for me for life.

Turned out, I couldn't be more wrong.

Any pain really needs to be investigated. Hope you find the cause, so it can be eliminated @thaneofglamour

thaneofglamour · 19/06/2023 20:10

It's been investigated. Doctors have all got to the shrugging stage...

TheLurpackYears · 19/06/2023 20:14

Ah, the joys of vaginal ahnd clitoral atrophy. You can ask your gp for topical oestrogen to see if it helps.
My orgasms needed testosterone ontop of systemic hrt to return.

Sandra1984 · 19/06/2023 20:18

55 and still going getting 5 day periods, going through peri, funny enough my blood test for hormones show I’m post menopause (?). I’ve noticed my libido has decreased considerably and orgasms take much longer to happen. 😩

Why don't you use a vibrator after sex if you haven't orgasmed?

Well, to start with, I don’t have one, then I would be too embarrassed, and finally I don’t think I could be bothered. It’s complicated, but I don’t feel as if I have much fire there these days.

HermioneWeasley · 20/06/2023 06:41

Thanks all for your responses. @thaneofglamour i am so cross on your behalf. If a man was experiencing the same it would be a national emergency.

Yes, I have this, even though I've been on HRT, but no testosterone, for 18 months. It's mostly quite hard to get there and the build up can just instantly disappear sometimes even though I thought I was well on the way to orgasming. It's very dispiriting.

thaneofglamour · 20/06/2023 06:58

Ha! It probably would! Special badges would be worn at all events...

Please get one, it will change your life. It is so easy now you can order them on-line.

OatALot · 20/06/2023 09:25

They don't work for me anymore. The drive is there and the build-up but then it doesn't result in anything riveting.
