Hi, due to start evorel conti this week. I've read all the threads on here and it's fair to say it makes me nervous but does anyone also take the mini pill? How have you found it?

I might actually mean evorel sequi Blush

Actually I was taking Evorel Conti for 9 months with Cerelle . I found I was having a few side effects , so have had a review with GP this week and have started a new regime . Basic Evorel 50 patches ( no progesterone) as the progesterone level in Cerelle is higher than that in the Conti patches . GP said otherwise the balance was too progesterone heavy .

Not sure how that would work if you are starting on the sequi patches though .

Hi Wolfcub,
I started patches yesterday and also take the mini pill. I am happy to compare notes😀also really nervous!

Wolfcub · 03/06/2023 21:09

That would be great EssexGirl. So far so good apart from a very burny leg when I put the patch on. Hoping to start to see some improvements in the next week or two.

No problem. It would be good to have someone to talk to.
No issues so far, changing patch tomorrow. Like you I am hoping to see some improvements over the next few weeks.
My mood has been so low.
The anxiety has also been awful 😞

Need PMA not PMT🤣

Annoyingly patch came off on Sunday morning as it turned up at a corner and stuck to the sheets so had to change patch in the morning rather than the evening. Other than that still all good. Mostly worried about the switch to the conti patches in two weeks

Where do you put it?
Changed mine yesterday. Been feeling really low last couple of days but other then that no other issues. Trying to stay positive but struggling a bit today.

Wolfcub · 06/06/2023 10:52

It's on my thigh but think it might be too low down. I've also been low but I have an external cause for that so not attributing to the patch at this point. I'm planning to track my mood for the first few months to see if there's any pattern that comes out

Hi Wolfcub,
Just thought I would check in, how's things?
Still have really low mood and a bit anxious.

Wolfcub · 10/06/2023 11:42

Hi, well I've managed to just about get the patches to stay on for the length of time they are supposed to. Not sure if it's the sun or the patches but I am starting to feel slightly more energetic and able to concentrate which is positive. Sorry to hear you are still feeling anxious.

That's great news😊
Keep me posted.
I haven't had any problems with keeping patch on but worried about the progestogen being too much with the mini pill. A GP told me that I shouldn't be on pill I should use an alternative form of contraception. I am so confused!🙈

Essexgirl80 · 11/06/2023 08:52

Hi Wolfcub
Even more confused now. Woke this morning to find I am bleeding?!

Wolfcub · 11/06/2023 08:58

I think breakthrough bleeding is expected in the first few months, if you're worried speak to the gp. I agree about the worry re progesterone I've got the same concerns. Gp was keen for me to have the coil but I'm really not happy with that idea at all.

OP posts:
Essexgirl80 · 12/06/2023 08:17

Good morning,

Yeah heard about breakthrough bleeding, does feel like a proper period though with cramps and mood🙈
No I didn't want the coil either.

Essexgirl80 · 13/06/2023 16:46

Hi Wolfcub
GP has pulled me from patches due to extreme migraines. Looks like I may have to attempt a more natural root🙈 just hoping as not been on it long it doesn't cause issues.
Good luck with yours.
Let me know how you get on.
