HRT after endometrial ablation

I know it's probably a long shot but does anyone have experience of taking HRT after an endometrial ablation?

I had one several years ago due to horrendous periods and haven't had a period since.

I've been suffering quite badly with menopausal symptoms and my GP put me on HRT yesterday (Oestrogel - 2 pumps) and the micronised progesterone tablets. I've read the leaflets and a bit online since which mentions bleeding but I am wondering if this won't happen to me because of the ablation?

I'm going on my first holiday abroad in 4 years at the end of next month and the last thing I want is bleeding to ruin it, so rather than be caught unaware I'd appreciate any insight from anyone who's had both or knows someone who has.

Thanks very much if you got this far.

I had an ablation about 7 years ago and have been taking HRT tablets (combined) for the last four months. No bleeding at all.
However I am getting a lot of pelvic cramps so am a bit worried about that although I can't get a GP appointment for weeks.

Thanks very much for your reply. I feel very reassured that bleeding won't be an issue now. The difference it's made so far is unbelievable. Hot flushes have stopped and starting to feel more like me.
Sorry to hear you're getting lots of cramps. Fingers crossed you get an appointment to see your GP soon. Maybe you need a different type?

Yes! I had an ablation when I was 42 - haven’t had a period since, I’m 48 now. I started HRT (oestrogel plus utrogestan) two years ago & went straight to continuous rather than cyclical progesterone - I haven’t had any bleeding :)

Wow, you sound very similar to me! Identical HRT, but my ablation was when I was around 44 and I've just turned 50 so I'm feeling much more reassured now that bleeding won't be an issue 😀thank you
