Utrogestan tablets question

NBLarsen · 28/05/2023 20:03

I've been prescribed utrogestan tablets, on the label it says to take two tablets each evening on days 14-28 of cycle.
Problem is I don't have a regular cycle. At times I have been bleeding every two weeks, other times I have a five-week gap, it varies.
How should I know when to start taking them?

Are you on patches ? I used to be on patches ( long time ago , can't remember the name) where gif first half of my cycle I put on one sort of path , then day 15-28 I used a different sort and took tabs in the evening.
Can you work it like that ?

No I haven't got patches. I have these tablets and also oestrogel which I'm supposed to rub into my skin every day.

I’m in exactly the same position op. I start taking my utrogestan on exactly the same date each month and end it on exactly the same date each month.

So do you think it doesn't matter so much about the timings of a cycle, so long as you take the tablets for 14 days in a row each month?

I don't have periods due to the pill I take, so my doctors said in circumstances when period dates aren't clear, they advise to take it from the dates 15th - 28th of the month.

It isn't your natural monthly cycle. It's the cycle of HRT. So day 1 is the first day you start using the gel. Then you take the Utrogestan on day 14-28, then stop for 14 days, then restart. The bleed you may or may not get is irrelevant.

@Lougle Thank you 🙏🏻 that explains it a lot more sensibly than the label on the box.
