Hot flushes starting a year after periods stopped?

I had a surgical menopause a year ago and thought I’d got off quite lightly (no hrt) but I’ve started to have multiple hot flashes throughout the night which are affecting my sleep. None in the day though. Anyone else?

Not me but have heard of this happening to others.

Anyone else?

All women are different. A lot of us only started having flushes and sweats once our periods had stopped (although you'd expect them soon after removal of ovaries.)

How old are you? Were you offered HRT ?

Thank you lljkk and JinglingSpringbells. I’m 53 now (52 at surgery). I wasn’t sure whether I was post menopausal already as I had been on tamoxifen for 3 years and my periods went from regular to nothing when I started it. I didn’t have flushes with tamoxifen. Unfortunately I can’t take hrt (breast cancer) and wondering how long this will last …
