Adjustment to mirena?

I've just switched from utrogestan to the mirena coil. I switched because I felt foul - irritable and low mood - for the 12 days of utrogestan.
The coil's been in a week and I still feel foul! I hate everyone and have no perspective on anything.

Is there an adjustment period, will it improve or is this my life now?

Peri absolutely kicking my ass and I'm only 42

You may be progesterone intolerant?
Some women are, even to their own.

Give the mirena time to settle i would. The progesterone released, is a very small amount compared to utrogestan.

Hope things settle soon.
A shift in hormones can be brutal.

Thank you for your reply. I'm.definately intolerant to something - at the moment I think it's my family 😅. I'll give it more time... Perhaps it was just too much to have it inserted straight after the 12 days of utrogestan....

I found I had a couple of weeks of strong symptoms with the Mirena - reminiscent of when I used to take the pill (which was why I stopped taking it!) - then it just settled down.

Which was good, because I was getting all set to demand its removal.

It took the spotting months to stop, though. But now I’ve had it about 18 months and I forget I have it. And as soon as it runs out I’m getting another!
