Should I ask for HRT?

I'm early fifties and haven't had a period in 19 months. I suppose I have started my menopause (although according to my GP, the blood test I had indicates I'm not). I'm tired, got brain fog, achy body, no joy in my life and no sexual labido. I feel flat, dull and depressed. I don't have mood swings, sweats or hot flushes. Should I be talking to my GP about HRT? Or am I better off just as I am. Longer term, is HRT safer for my bones? I'm really confused. I have other health issues so just assume this is me and just ageing. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I’m only 45 and I have, it’s made a big difference to the brain fog.

No it's not just ageing. You are early 50s (not your 80s!) and may live for another 40 years.

You are post menopause regardless of any blood tests. 12 months with no periods= post menopause.

All you can do is try HRT and see if it helps.

I started HRT a month ago and I feel amazing - I didn’t realise how the menopause was affecting me - I wasn’t moody so felt I was ok - but after just a day, my aches, pains and flat moods were gone, after 2 weeks my blood pressure dropped from 130/85 to 120/71 and I feel amazing.
