Rage With Progesterone Part of HRT

I've been using Evorel Sequi since February. I'm 48 and they were prescribed for symptoms of perimenopause, mainly horrendous brain fog and tiredness.

I noticed last month that when I used the Conti patches (the ones with oestrogen and progesterone), I'm really quick to anger and it's frightened me. This morning, I've already yelled at a bottle of body lotion that fell of the shelf and then started crying. Last month was terrible.

Had anybody else had this? I'm going to speak to my GP again next week but I'm keeping a diary of symptoms and I want to see how I go over the weekend.

Thank you!

Hi, I'm new on mumsnet and just started my second monthly batch of evorel sequi. My first week on the progesterone only patch definitely made me feel more achy and tired. Thought this not working but by the third progesterone patch I felt better. Think my body was just getting used to it. You'd probably be best talking to your doctor but I think sometimes we over analyse things. I'm sticking with it at the moment hoping it will make my heavy periods lighter.

It might be the type of and regime progesterone - ask Gp what other options there are.

Mirena or oral micronised progesterone (Utrogestan) are options as are others.

It is common and usually settles down after a while. It's only been a few months/cycles so you could try waiting it out. I think it took me a good 6 months. So worth it

I’m completely the opposite, feel awful with the oestrogen only and better on the Conti? I mean I feel bloody awful on both (5th week on them now so hoping for improvement) but better with the Conti

Thank you. I'm keeping a diary so I'll give it a few months to see if it settles.

I had a recent thread on this board about meno and rage, so I do feel your pain as it's awful. I'm on a coil and the Continuous patches, and I've found that when the rage comes in it's a sign I need more oestrogen, my GP was happy to prescribe a hugger dose which really helped.

I hope you get it sorted soon OP
