What to do when I’ve had my coil out ?

Had a Mirena fitted due to more frequent, heavy periods causing low ferritin. Wires immediately went up inside, had scan and told it was in the right place. Spotting eventually settled down after 7 months, with the occasional light period after.
Now I’ve had a heavy bleed followed by bleeding/spotting that settled down after 10 days, just had a scan and apparently the coil is low, and she said it won’t be working for contraception, so I assume that’s why I bled ?
So I’m assuming I’ll have to be referred for removal, so what next ? I’m not sure I want another coil but I don’t want frequent heavy periods back. Is there anything else I can consider ?

In a similar boat, except I've got mine for the progesterone part of my HRT.

I have a feeling it's not sitting right and am going to request a scan to check it.

If it's moved, it will have to come out. That leaves a problem as I bleed on progesterone utrogestan tablets ( I don't absorb).

I would think for you, either a womb ablation, or a hysterectomy? What do you think? They seem pretty drastic measures but better than horrid heavy periods?

A friend mentioned they might offer progesterone tablets, but I believe that increases your chance of a clot ?
I really don’t know, but I know I don’t want to go back to flooding and being restricted two days a month, along with the palpitations and tingling hands of low ferritin.
Id be quite happy to get rid of my womb if it wasn’t for the general anaesthetic and recovery time !

Yes a colleague of mine was prescribed norethistone for the heavy bleeding. Then she had a womb ablation.

Heavy bleeding is grim. There's no easy option unfortunately!
