Get rid of mirena ?

Well, I don't think HRT is really working out, after almost 5 years of trying different combinations. I had the mirena fitted last May and in the main, I think it's been okay.

If I come off hrt, the mirena will have to come out, otherwise I think I'm
going to feel pretty grim?

Will I experience any bleeding? Pain? Mood crashes?

My only worry with having it out is, that if I need to go back on oestrogen, I will need a new coil ( utrogestan didn't control my bleeding unfortunately) and I will have to start the whole process again.

No you don't have to take out the Mirena. Premenopausal women use it for contraception and many get along just fine with it. It's not 'supposed' to cause systemic effects, although it certainly does in some women. Just see how you feel when you come off the estrogen, there's no need to rush into decisions on it.

@Pollyputhekettleon thanks
I just wondered whether the mirena might cause the womb lining to become too thin without the oestrogen to balance it out?

It would be a while before I could have it removed anyway.

Depends on your age I imagine. Best to check with whoever prescribed the HRT but I wouldn't assume it needs to come out.
