Is the Mirena to blame?

I had a Mirena coil inserted nearly 3 weeks ago as I didnt seem to be absorbing the progesterone from Utrogestan tablets. I am also on Evorel conti 100 patches.

I feel exhausted, low mood and not at all my usual self. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how long did it last?

Tricky one. It could be the Mirena. Did you feel okay prior to having it fitted? They can take a long time to settle unfortunately.

Don't the conti patches contain progesterone too? I thought with the Mirena you just use estrogen patches. That's what I'm on. If you're taking progesterone in patch form as well as the Mirena, that sounds like a lot of progesterone.

@WhereAreWeNow, I’m on estrogen only Evorel 100 patches.

@Runaround50, I felt OK MHwise previously - I was on Evorel 50 patches and Utrogestan 100 daily, but was spotting/bleeding so Gp upped me to 100patches, no change with the Utrogestan.

Bleeding got worse so put in 2WW and had hysteroscopy and polyps removed and Mirena fitted as they said it is gold standard for treating uterus thickening. Got GP to test hormone levels and she said estrogen was low so to go back to Evorel 100 patches.

Bleeding/spotting seems to be improving, but I don’t feel my usual self MHwise. Also got to see nurse to check that the Mirena is in place this week as I couldn’t feel strings.

It might be the mirena. I've got one too and use with 75 patch. I did up
to 100, but it's not agreeing with me. Now I've gone off oestrogen totally and feel wretched!

Give the mirena time to settle I would. They can take a few months.

@Runaround50, thanks - I have heard that it can take a while 😩
