Everi Conti - first night and my first ever night sweats...

Well - first ever night sweats unrelated to illness.

I've been so, so lucky with menopause, in that my only main symptom has been loss of short term memory. Work wise, I just can't remember many things from meetings, small decisions I've made, or things I've done before which previously I'd have laser recall about, which is really problematic. It's very noticeable and needs fixing.

I am also less energetic and less interested in sex, which are problems too but not such a priority,

I've had no physical or emotional symptoms at all. So lucky.

I've just started using Evorel patches 50mg (?) yesterday.

I woke in the night covered in sweat and this morning, also so clammy.

Obviously this is very early days, but I'm questioning if I should have gone on HRT to address memory, or if I should have tried other routes first.

Did anyone feel their memory has improved from Evorel? Or had initial night sweats that then went away?

My memory started to improve within about 12 hours of putting in my first Evorel Conti patch. I too had brain fog that was impacting my work and it improved dramatically, and I got a bit of oomph back to in terms of energy and feeling less like a creaky old lady.

i wouldn’t worry too much about symptoms for the first few days, this isn’t like flicking a switch, your body needs to adjust to having the hormones again. Fingers crossed for you it settles down.

Thanks so much for your response, @funnelfan.

That's really positive to hear.

You're right of course. I do need to give it time.

I would love my memory to improve so fingers crossed!

Yes, my memory improved massively, although I was on Evorel Sequi (as I am still having periods). I was at the stage where I was beginning to think I had dementia (not joking either, it was really upsetting). I was constantly fucking stuff up, couldn't think on my feet, couldn't learn new things. Fortunately I'm not working at the moment, as there is no way I'd have coped.
Feel so much more on the ball now.
I didn't have night sweats from the patches though, I'd previously had very mild "getting a bit warm at night" feelings, but I'm now back to my usual frozen self! The side effects I did have were massively sore swollen breasts and a crampy stomach - both settled with time and evening primrose supplements.

Im not sure those symptoms you describe, equate to being so so lucky? They sound pretty rubbish to me ( particularly at work ?)

Symptoms can appear unannounced at any time, in any capacity.

Give the patches time to work. Low oestrogen doesn't happen overnight and it can take a while for the tank to fill up again.

Some also use testosterone to help revive cognitive ability.

Good luck 🤞

That's really good to hear, @Spiderysenses. I certainly need mine to!

@Runaround50 - you're right, I definitely do have symptoms. I just see so many women sharing very distressing stories, I feel lucky to have (seemingly) got off more lightly 🤞

I started Evorel sequi almost a month ago. I put my last patch of the first box on last night.

I've also experienced right from the start waking a bit warm and sweaty. Before, I only had night sweats around mid cycle and before period. These are less severe than before Hrt but I was dismayed it was happening every night since I started it. It's only in the last week it's started to lessen. Keep going. It seems to be a gradual process. Some say they felt amazing in a week but maybe that's not so common. It can take a good 3 months to six months to get a good idea of how well it's working.

What I did notice very quickly in the first week was being more awake/aware mentally. Like turning a light switch on.

I've had awful lower back/hip pain and stiffness and pain down my leg for three years. After 2-3wks of the patches it's 90% better, I was shocked.

No side effects I don't think apart from maybe taking a bit longer to get to sleep especially on the oestrogen only ones.

Thanks for sharing your experience, @Cyberpixie.

That does sound positive.

I can definitely notice something going on today. I do feel a bit warm and like I have a slight temperature. Also a bit of a metallic taste in my mouth.

But also quite bright and happy, so that's very good news 🤞🤞

My memory improved when taking magnesium L-Threonate.

Thank you @DustyLee123 - was there a specific brand?

No, I just get mine from Amazon. 500mg a day is recommended, but I can’t get anywhere near that.

Just following up to say I'm feeling great.

Had a very productive weekend and I even recalled the name of an actress on a old TV show that would have previously escaped me!

So far so good 🤞🤞
