Starting HRT after combined pill

I am 43 and experiencing perimenopause symptoms, tried the combined pill (3 different brands) but side effects just weren't tolerable in the end so GP suggested try HRT. Just started HRT, patches estradot 50 and utogestran for 12 days of the cycle. I'm not sure if I made a mistake starting HRT too soon. Basically I stopped the combined pill and had the bleed you get when you stop the pill, decided to start HRT on the first day of the period. So far I have been on it a week but one of the side effects of the combined pill was overactive bladder which is still there with the HRT although now milder, I would say still not great day to day to have this feeling.

So basically I am now thinking should I have just waited a month to start the HRT to see if the overactive bladder thing settled first because now I can't tell if it is a me thing or a hormone thing or is it fine to continue with the HRT and just see what happens. I am thinking maybe I should just stop now and restart hrt in a month when things are back to "baseline".

It seems a bit trivial writing it now as I guess it won't matter too much long term whatever I decide to do but I just wanted to ask to see if anyone else has had simialr experience when coming off the combined pill or has any advice they can share.

Thank you everyone.
