Did they reduce when you stopped taking it?

It's getting ridiculous now.

I found estrogel had this effect but the patches don't. Maybe try a different form of HRT?

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 30/04/2023 23:09

I had a while of them feeling quite tender with patches but it subsided after a month or so

Xrays · 30/04/2023 23:10

Mine went up about 2/3 cup sizes and then just stopped after a while.

Yes..it's awful...gone up 2 cups sizes and they hurt.
Often feels like it did when my breast milk came in just after I had a baby.

I know mine do as I’ve had to stop taking it several times since I’ve been on it for medical tests I’ve had, but I just put up with it as I’d rather have large boobs than the horrible stuff I had before HRT. (Currently about a 34H).

Ewk1 · 01/05/2023 08:53

Hi @FlowersEverywherePlease yes, there is free training for healthcare professionals, but it is not recognised by the British Menopause Society or the Royal College of Nursing.

I lasted a month on HRT for this reason. So so sore and MASSIVE (and they ain't small normally). Even if I brushed past something lightly it was quite painful. Took a few weeks for them to deflate!

crossstitchingnana · 01/05/2023 09:08

I'm having this issue, my bras are uncomfortable and my breasts are so sore. Also, my nipples are very itchy at times.

I'm about 10 weeks in and hoping it eases off otherwise I am going to have to stop. Shame as apart from struggling to keep the patches on I am loving it.

Xrays · 01/05/2023 09:18

The soreness should stop - mine were only sore initially but they’ve stayed huge.

SpringTimeCartwheels · 01/05/2023 09:21

@Xrays thanks for your reply.
When you come off do you wean off slowly or just stop one day?

It's with the BMS isn't it?

I don’t know what others do but I had to stop suddenly as I needed to stop it for 6 weeks due to cortisol tests I had for Addisons disease (oestrogen can falsely elevate cortisol levels so you need to be off HRT / combined pill for at least 6 weeks). I felt quite rough and had a period / bleed and then restarted it again once I’d completed the tests. I lost half a stone in that time and my boobs deflated 😳😆

SpringTimeCartwheels · 01/05/2023 11:30

@Xrays i have put on half a stone and my boobs are huge! Also very anxious. Im thinking its the cortisol.

Just had a period on hrt. So thinking it might be a good time to give it a rest. I've been on it a year and a half. Tried all sorts. But not really happy still.

Although my joints ache less and my moods are more even.

Might try some alternatives and see how i go for a bit.

Ewk1 · 01/05/2023 13:14

Louise Newson offers free training but it is not recognised by the BMS or RCN. Courses through the BMS or FSRH must be paid for. There is even variation in the availability of RCN menopause courses throughout the UK - some free, some funded.

DreamiesAnonymous · 04/05/2023 20:44

Yes, definitely bigger and a bit painful at certain times (keep meaning to note when in my.cycle but I keep forgetting).Fortunately I'm not exactly busty so the size doesn't bother me too much. I've put on weight generally, though, which I am less keen on.
