Utrogestan advice

Hi all, look for some advice. Due to start utrogestan on the 14th of may, so I understand so far I take this until the 28th. Are the remaining days of this month counted as day 1 of the 14 day break? I’m so confused x

HRT is generally taken as a 28 day cycle.

So if you're on 14 day progesterone, you take pills 14th - 27th May inclusive.

28 May is day 1 of your new cycle, start your pills on the 15th day.

I use "My Calendar" to track when I need to take my pills, so it's set up to take for 14 days then break for 14 days.

Sorry to contradict the PP but the dose is 12 days (14 for women who bleed heavily on 12 days.) The 12 days is on the leaflet.

GPs have started saying 14 days as it makes it 'easier' for women to do 14 days off and on (as if they can't count to 12!) and you can do 12 days per calendar month, not 28 days. Years ago my consultant (top UK meno gynae) suggested that on a monthly cycle, women choose the same day each month- eg the 1st or whatever day you starti t and stick to that.

@JinglingSpringbells I just can’t seem to get my head around it all, don’t know if it’s brain fog or I’m being thick 😂 so I count the 14th day from my last period? Or just 14 days in the cycle?
