I am 54 and up until recently was still having periods every month. I have endometriosis so I have been looking forward to the end but obviously anxious about what the menopause will bring. For the past 8 weeks I’ve had a period every 2 weeks, started again yesterday. If your menopause stated with frequent periods how long did this go on for?

I am in so much pain and I’m feeling very grim.😩

I’m 49 , and I am having exactly the same problem, it’s truly miserable, you have my total empathy.

Hi @Bytheways and @Toomanysquishmallows I’m 49 in a couple of months and have just had my first what-the-hell-my-period-only-just-bloody-finished-last-week period, so think this might be the start of it all. And bloomin hell it’s been a heavy one too. Like you both, I’m really dreading where this is all going… wishing us all luck and a gentle and quick ride.
