Can’t get utrogestan

Help! I’ve run out and can’t get any (supply issues). Is it dangerous to continue oestrogen without the progesterone? I asked the pharmacist who (rightly but frustratingly) said I need to speak to my GP. I know it’ll be a few days before I’ll succeed in getting through their system. Should I stop oestrogen until I can get my prescription filled???

Try different pharmacies - the one closest to me hasn’t had utrogeston since the end of last year - the one in town has it no problems.

That’s a good idea, I’ll do that. Again though, it’s likely to take a few days. Does anyone know if it’s safe to carry on with oestrogen until I can get it?

If it's only a few days then that's fine. You can then check with your GP or phone around.

I have a few spare packets if you’d like one? - can post first class today - pm me?

I don't know the answer to your question about carrying on with oestrogen, sorry, but could you ring round other pharmacies today to see if they've got any? You could potentially get hold oof some the same day if you can get to an alternative pharmacy. I've had to do this several times over the past year (and have now learnt to get my prescription requests in earlier than I actually need the HRT because this supply problem keeps happening).

@Cocteautriplet thank you so much, that’s extremely kind of you. I’m sorted with an alternative now but thank you very much for the offer.

I’ve been prescribed a different one until it gets back into stock. I thought I had ordered it in plenty time but the GP wouldn’t prescribe until I’d been in for a blood pressure check - fair enough but with trying to get an appointment/time off work meant it was a 3 week delay.
