Supply Issues

Hi all

Haven't posted on this board yet (haven't needed to!) but have been on MN for a number of years.

I have had my first prescription for HRT and am really struggling to get the patches anywhere, pharmacies saying that there is no stock available of 50mcg anywhere in the country.

What other options do I have - can I buy them privately? I know I shouldn't have to but I am eager to begin.

Can you use 2x 25 patches or cut 100 patches into half? You may have to return to your GP for an amended prescription.

Is the prescription for a specific brand or generic estradiol patches? If it's a specific brand you can ask the GP to prescribe just the patches without specifying brand. That should make it easier to find stock near you.
I prefer Estrodot (they're v small) but I was fine with Evorel too.

Thanks. The pharmacy won’t supply a different strength to double up/cut without a new prescription.

Have prescriptions for both brands mentioned above but I’m not sure why a generic one just isn’t done. I haven’t been able to get either anywhere locally and have been told there are none in the U.K. (clearly bullshit) and have had a private prescription. Thankfully am in a position to be able to pay for them if I have to but many are not.
