HRT side effect

Is it just me?

I started HRT about four months ago. The side effect I wasn’t expecting, was that I actually like my husband again.

In all seriousness, after almost 20 years of marriage (happy pre-perimenopause) I was making divorce plans (in my head at least).

I can’t believe how close I was to it. Has anyone else had this happen to them? It makes me feel quite shaky (maybe a slight exaggeration) that all it took was HRT for me to feel positively about my marriage agin. It could quite easily have ended in divorce and torn our family apart.

Is it just me?

How many weeks in did you notice that you felt different? And what HRT are you talking?

I'm 2 years post-menopause and have been on oestrogel plus utrogestan for nearly 3 months and feel worse, if anything. Tired and miserable and unfortunately not very kindly towards DH (or anyone!)

Oh yes, I had exactly the same. On Rightmove every night wondering which little house to buy when I was alone at last. Happily married up until about 25th year than j just wanted to get away. Depression and revulsion in equal measure.
A couple of months on HRT and back to normal thank Goddess. Just as well, he'd never cope without me 🤣

@aprilmule in all honesty it’s probably only in the last couple of weeks I’ve felt better. I started it Mid December. I’m on the same as you. I’m still perimenopausal. I don’t know if that makes any difference

@BinkyBeaufort I know. I’ve saved loads of properties on RightMove. Glad it’s not just me. 🤣

It does make me wonder how many relationships falter because of the menopause.
