Slurred speech

Hi, I had a total hysterectomy in June last year which resulted in immediate surgical menopause (I was 36 so not peri menopausal or anything until then).

I cannot have any HRT as I had extremely hormone driven cancer, and am now on hormone inhibitors to reduce levels even further.

I’ve been quite lucky as I really only have hot flushes but I have noticed more and more my speech is slurred. I can hear it, it comes out too fast and all runs together. I have to repeat myself all the time and now am becoming quite embarrassed of it. Has anyone else had this? I am particularly conscious if I am out and having a drink as I worry people will think I’m drunk!

If you’ve had this, does it stay forever?! Any advice?

I have, when I’m particularly fuzzy headed.

Waiting to see what others say…..

My brain fog only lasted a few months and I feel I’m back at pre-surgery capacity now pretty much so I’m not sure why mine is still slurred so much. It’s like I can no longer talk as fast but still try to anyway. I manage a team and it’s so embarrassing constantly tripping over my words.

Are you hydrated? I know it sounds silly but I find I'm like this when I havent drunk enough water.

Seriously, @AGreatUsername you ned to speak to your medical team on this. slurred speech can be a sign of all sorts of things including serious neurological orders.

Have you asked others how you sound ? Is it you thinking it, or is it actually happening ?
