Bleeding with uti in menopause

Long post..Last August I had a UTI but with different symptoms to what I would usually get , I'd noticed minute orange spotting in my knickers for a few days before symptoms started then every time I went to the toilet I had red blood come out and an horrendous burning as the wee came and the after effects of the burning stayed for over 24 hours building up again to a height during a wee.
The bleeding which was red like a period ran out of me with the wee and then was just a tiny bit here and there on a pad until the next wee where a lot would come out again.
A three day antibiotic cleared it up but I bled for 48 hours from first symptoms,".
Now here's my worry..when I saw the doctor and he prescribed the antibiotic he didn't seem interested at the bleeding but I'm 54 and my periods stopped at age 48.
This January I went to see another GP about something and mentioned the bleeding, she said you were chewed out a few years ago for thickening of uterine lining and all was ok but I'll refer you to gynaecology anyway.
Well it's three months since referral and I still haven't been seen and it's eight months since bleed!!
Am I worrying about nothing? Has bleeding happened to anyone else with a uti as I described?
TIA x
