How long to expect gaps?

Hiya, my periods have been somewhat erratic over the last few years. I have trouble sleeping, emotional rollercoaster etc etc...as you may understand. My last period was mid feb.....am I likely to have another or is it the luck of the draw? I am fingers crossed for the end but I do get niggly period pain type cramps sporadically. What can I expect now ( if you have had a similar experience)?
Thanks.

There is no simple rule - everyone is different

But on average I think a 2 month gap isn't that long

I think I recall 6 months free and then another 2 periods before mine all stopped forever

It's also very common to have sone very big nasty periods after a good few free months - always carry something with you just in case as many people refer to being flooded without warning

But if you are having trouble sleeping etc now is a good time to think about hrt

I was wondering about that. I have had a couple of very heavy periods but that was a year or so ago. I'm off to the docs soon anyway so will ask then. I'm having a smear, can I ask the nurse or is it a doctor thing?
Thanks.
