Crazy period

Hi everyone, I am in perimenopause and on hrt. My periods have been getting lighter over last few months and shorter which has been great as they’ve always been a nightmare. Started off the same way this month with 4 days of barely there bleeding and overnight I’ve had the most horrific period pain and have bled everywhere with some clots as well. This is normal for this stage of life isn’t it? Was hoping they’d just gradually fade away but apparently not! It’s normal though isn’t it?

I believe so.....

I think progesterone (the expelling hot one) weakens, and therefore light periods are (maybe) not expelling everything, when your body yoyos and produces a little more progesterone, there is a big push out, dispelling the built up lining (maybe). This is my understanding, but I m no expert.

Fluctuating periods are normal.

Not hot one, hormone

Thank you. I might look into that more as a theory.
