Periods have started again, but I'm taking estrogen cream

I've been having periods every 10 months ish, sometimes I don't get any for over a year. I started to get symptoms of vaginal
Atrophy earlier this year and the GP has given me estrogen cream which has stopped the symptoms ( thank god ), the problem is my periods have started to become monthly since using the cream, they only last a day but are so painful and heavy I can't go anywhere for a day. I'm really worried my gp will take me off the cream. Has anyone had a similar experience?

You can't assume it's the cream- it's too weak to do this.

How old are you?

If you are having regular periods still it sounds as if you are not yet post menopausal.

See your GP who should refer you for a scan. Any bleeding more than 12 months after your last period has to be checked out.

Thanks @JinglingSpringbells I'm 50, and also started my periods at a young age. I'll see my gp and have a chat.
