Mirena v Utrogestan

I’m really suffering from Utrogestan side effects- bloating, bleeding, depression - on the days I take it. (I take it vaginally - have done for about 4 years- after getting even worse side effects when using oral route: also take oestrogel & vagifem.)

I have appointment with consultant on Tuesday & thinking of asking for Mirena coil instead. Does anyone have experience of changing to this - as progesterone source- from Utrogestan? Are the side effects less?

Exact same thing happened to me, I was on evorel 50 and utrogestan, tried despirately for it to work. Like you had awful bloating and spotting along with terrible nausea.
swaped to mirena and never looked back, this was 8 years ago (obviously had mirena changed in that time).

Also the fitting although slightly uncomfortable we're fine mainly because they were done by a consultant who used loads of local anaesthetic.

Mirena all the way. Utrogestan was about as effective as a chocolate tea pot for me. Bleeding and womb lining build up etc.
