Peri menopause and mini pill

I'm 47 and came off the mini pill a year ago, it took about 5 months for my periods to come back. They are now back every 3 weeks or so and the worst kind of periods, flooding, huge clots and awful cramps. I can't take them anymore as it completely wipes me out, so I have gone back on the mini pill (cerazette). I started them again about 10 days ago, and have started a period today, my question is will the periods be lighter now I'm back on the mini pill? Or should I still expect to be flooding etc? I'm hoping it will be lighter but just wanted to know other ladies experiences

I am 48. Went on cerazette 6 months ago due to horrendous periods. Had one in the first month, then a light bleed a couple of weeks ago. Means I can go to work with a decent pain free nights sleep and no fear of flooding. Hope it works ok for you too.

Aww sorry to hear of your troubles. I hope your periods are lighter from now on, it sounds as though that may happen?

I don't use the pill, but I'm 48. I'm doing it raw, I guess because it hasn't been too bad so far. I had a few years of changed cycle lengths and like you, a few more painful periods. But nothing too bad, and now the gaps are really long, say 120 days, 180 days. That's almost six months. So if it's six months between, I guess I just be at late stage peri and almost into actual menopause itself. Scary. In a way I would like a few more periods, just to say goodbye and feel the last few. Although I am sick of them now and over the pain and the belly and boobs and feeling sad. But I'm not quite ready to be in full menopause. It makes me feel old and I'm too hot to feel old! lol

Do you plan on staying on the mini pill for a while to see yourself through the peri? What then, just come off and hope they have gone away? Its a funny old thing isn't it.
