HRT and night sweats

Twoshoesnewshoes · 02/04/2023 10:29

I’m trying HRT again, mainly for tiredness.
now I’m on the progesterone (10 days out of 26 I think) I’m having night sweats!
im not transformed by the HRT, and the potential risks plus getting all sweaty is making me reconsider. Also, my hair is awful 😞
Anyone else? Any thoughts or advice?

My night sweats went as soon as I increased the dose of my patch. They went briefly on 50mcg then came back, so I increased to 75mcg and they've gone, massive relief.

Thanks, my GP said I can go from 1 to 2 sprays if estrogen so maybe I’ll try that.

I had awful night sweats. Wake up hot and clammy throw off covers. Wake up cold and clammy back under duvet. Repeat, repeat.

I changed to single duvets and got myself the thinnest I could find (3 tog).

I also found it easier to fall asleep if I could keep my temperature down. So made sure bedroom was as cool as possible, window open all year and I take cold gel packs to bed with me.

Hi. I was looking for a thread on night sweats. My patches are already 75. Everything else is great apart from waking every night soaked in sweat. I am cold when I first get in bed so reluctant to get a lighter duvet just yet.
its weird I wouldn’t describe it as a hot flush (I have been very lucky with those). This is fairly recent too.
i started taking citalopram a few months ago and now wondering if it started then. I didn’t notice at first.
My periods stopped about 18 months ago and nothing has changed recently.
