Begging doctor for HRT yet again...

Right, this time will be different and I will not be patronised by a male doctor who sounded like he was in his late twenties!

I have an appointment with a female doctor and am armed with a completed menopause symptom checker. Just need to prepare myself for any "out there" questions then I'm ready to go.

Wish me luck x

Good luck! I've been fortunate in that I haven't had to fight, it's been offered on a couple of occasions but I've finally caved and just started on patches yesterday. Really hope it goes well for you x

Don't beg op just treat them with the disdain they deserve if they aren't clued up. I'm very on the fence re hrt but if someone wants it they should not have to beg or persuade hcps.

Just take control, be assertive. Say you've read the NICE guidelines and want to try bodyindentical HRT and you’ll submit a review in 3months. Throw in hot sweats even if you don't have them as that seems to be on the essential nhs tick box list.

I hate how some Drs can make some women feel. They are there to provide a service to us not to judge or belittle. If you're over 45 and struggle with debilitating meno problems then it should be a straightforward, in fact no need for face to face I'd fo for phone or econsult tbh.

Thanks for your responses spursforever and Janiie. The appointment went really well, I had a young female doctor and she was absolutely brilliant. She was really annoyed about the other doctors response and basically disagreed with everything he told me. So I've got a 3 month prescription and am double crossing my fingers that the hrt makes a difference.
