I've just been prescribed these. I'm petrified, does anyone take them?

Yes, they work well. Use them, I presume you were prescribed them for atrophy. The sooner you start the better.

They really do help. I have them for dryness and did the tablet a day for two weeks and now am on one tablets twice a week.

Sorry to wake this old thread up- I've been prescribed these, and I think they're making me have lots of urine leakage?!!

I felt like there was an issue with leakage- not needing to go desperately or not being able to hold it- just occasional leakage at different parts of the cycle.

Dr said to use this and I have done, and it's definitely got much worse over the course of the two weeks- constant problematic leakage when before was an occasional thing.

I have a 'strong' pelvic floor according to Dr and no other menopausal symptoms and am a bit worried I've been put on them a bit early or something?

Sorry to resurrect this thread Smile

I have been using these but twice per week does not seem enough, can you take them more regularly?

CroftingCarrie · 02/06/2024 07:53

Yes they are safe to use more often but my GP won't prescribe for more than 2 a week so I have to buy an OTC product that comes with a lot of plastic and foil waste.

You can also repeat the loading dose if required.

Lots of women need vaginal oestrogen more often than twice a week.

Getting it prescribed can be another matter though.

everythingisgoingup · 02/06/2024 08:54

Thanks CroftingCarrie and AnnaMagnani I thought I was able to. Is there guidance on how much?

CroftingCarrie · 02/06/2024 08:56

It depends on your GP. You might have no problem obtaining more.

I’m prescribed Imvaggis vaginal oestrogen pessaries and though initially the dose was every night for three weeks, then reduce to twice a week, my gp allows me to use them every other night. Twice a week was simply not enough to reduce my symptoms.
Vaginal oestrogen is a very very low dose, much lower than systemic HRT ( like patches or tablets) and it only works on the area it is being used- it doesn’t get into your system, so to speak. It’s very safe, you’ve nothing to worry about.

Thank you CroftingCarrie and TheRomanticOutlaw

I will speak to GP as I need it more regularly than twice weekly 😊
