UTROGESTAN daily?? Plus Evorel

most women seem to be on Utrogestan for just part of their cycle. I’m on it continuously, 100mg, plus Evorel Conti 75 patches which I change twice weekly.

I’ve increased to this level gradually, I’ve been on it for about 9 months. Haven’t had a period beyond spotting for a couple of months. I’m 46 and it’s really helped reduce anxiety, terrible PMT, slightly helped poor sleep and night sweats.

BUT I seem to be the only person I know who takes it continuously! Has the dr got it wrong?!

I am on it continuously (though on provera at the moment as supply issues with utrogestan).
I don't have the patches I use oestrogel. It has also helped my anxiety, hot flushes and insomnia.
I am 45 and until you posted hadn't heard of anyone else on it continuously either.

I'm taking it continuously too and I'm also on evoraI 75. It really hasn't helped my anxiety though if anything it's much worse am back at the dr's tomorrow after blood tests and hoping it is going to be reduced because I can't carry on feeling like this x

I take it continuously alongside Oestrogel and the mini pill. It works well for me. I’m 42 and went into early menopause aged 37 due to lupus and other issues. I wanted to stay on the mini pill as it stops me bleeding.

I take 200mg every day and am on Evorel 100
I change my patch every 4 days rather than twice a week - it makes the pack last a bit longer and helps get me through any supply issues (as a pack of 8 lasts for 32 days rather than 28)

Daily for me too, with Evorel 50 patches.

I take 100mg Utrogestan daily along with Oestrogel, but I'm postmenopausal so continuous combined HRT (daily Utrogestan) is the usual regime.

I take it daily too..

The continuous regime is for women who are post menopausal when they start it, or if they aren't sure, aged over 54.

The risk of using it too early like this is it won't control the lining (especially if you are on a high dose of 100mcg patch) and you will still get bleeding beyond the initial 6 months of use. (Some spotting is normal for 6 months on all conti types, but not after that time.)

If this happens, you need to see your dr and discuss options.

Continuous for me too...just had the dose increased to 200mg a day as I was still having the odd breakthrough bleed.

I'm on 2 weeks on and off as it wasn't a year since my last period but I am 55 so should it be daily? I have a review coming up so can check with the prescriber.
