Do you up your Estrogel during the progesterone phase?

Despite taking Utrogestan vaginally I still feel worse for wear during the required 12 days of cyclical HRT. Some of my low oestrogen-symptoms start to reappear, and they go away within days once I am done with the progesterone phase. So I am wondering whether to up my Oestrogel by half a pump for those 12 days. I am currently on three, so would still be within recommended range. Does anyone have experience with this?

Interesting. Unfortunately I don't know the answer but am really interested to hear what people say as I have the same issue. I'm only on cycle 5 so thought I had to give it time to get used to the Utrogestan. I found the 12 days of Utrogestan really rough initially and even this month, when it's been a bit better, you're right, I'm waking up a bit sweaty and clammy which goes away completely in the first 2 weeks. I also find I'm changing the patches on a patch change day during the utrogestan phase as soon as i wake up rather than wait for the evening of that day.

I had my 3m checkup at GP the other day and mentioned this and she said take less progesterone i.e 1 x 100mg tablet rather than up the estrogen but I'm a bit worried that won't be protective enough. I'm taking it orally still though so might try vaginally next month. Do you still use 2 X 100mg that way?

The menopause specialist I see said to “play about with the gel and see what works” as like you I am worse when taking progesterone. Obviously I can’t comment on your own dosage but that’s what she told me..

I changed my dose of utrogestan. I take 2 on the first day then just 1 for the rest of the time.
I actually tolerated 10 days of that last month absolutely fine.

I hope it's protective enough.
