Burning skin on face symptom of menopause?

Has anyone else had a burning sensation in their face during menopause? I've had this sensation for the last 18 hours with no visible signs of rash or redness or anything. I've tried taking antihistamine and steroid cream but they haven't worked. It is slowly starting to spread. Could it be a symptom of menopause?

Sam You’re very very brave to be trying acupuncture I also meant to say. I have had just a short glimpse into understanding how terrifying a thing that must have been to start. Flowers

@HunningUpthatHill same as you mine started whilst peri. Mri no vascular swelling evident or Ms, phew. Was told i could have the op no remove damaged (if any) nerve, but the op sounds far too invasive.
The meds im on are tegretol, and when im having an episode can increase to 1200mg which knock me sideways & still dont reslly take away the pain altogether. I work part time but currently off sick as this episode is overbearing.
Yes i find it difficult to speak, function, its so debilitating, my last resort is acupuncture.

Forgot to add, the acupuncture isnt half as bad as it looks, and if you state your pain trigger points they avoid that area x
