Do you vary HRT dosage?

Hi wise minds.

I've been on HRT since last autumn. Am 7 years + with no periods. I'd delayed HRT owing to worries re increased cancer risk, but took the plunge after reading latest guidance.

I'm on a 50 estradol patch and 1 ultrogestran tablet a day. Plus testosterone now too.

Read the ultrogestan leaflet again which said that you change dosage throughout the month. Also saw that a lot of people on here seem to vary dosage to mimic a cycle.

Just wondering if those like me with no periods for years do that varying of dosage too? I'm worried that I might be building up too much womb lining, which can add to the cancer risk.

I'm taking what the gynae doctor prescribed and I guess the answer is to ask them but thought I'd get information /experience from here too.

Thanks all.

Ps. HRT is working well to help me sleep, and I've actually started dreaming again. Bloody wonderful

If you are 1+ years without a period or you are 54, the advice is to take an Utrogestan every day and this lessens the cancer risk. The routine whereby you only take them for part of the month is for when you still have periods, although I think the guidance maybe changing, but don't quote me on that!
So, you're on the correct routine I believe.
