Is exhaustion during the progesterone part normal?

I was just starting to feel better after starting iron tablets then started the first of the progesterone/oestrogen patches (everol sequi) and feel ridiculously tired again. Could it be the patches or do I need to see the GP again?

I did think about asking to swap to utrogestan if that might be better, but are stocks still low?

Omg I searched for a similar thing the other day.

I felt like I was walking through treacle by day 7 of the progesterone.

I'm not drinking, lots of water, v healthy diet, some exercise and iron tablets too!

My 2 weeks on the progesterone are awful. I now only take them 2 weeks out of 12 for that reason. According to menopause matters website that's sufficient to protect your womb.

@RandomMess the good thing about the progesterone though is that it gets rid of the breast tenderness. Do you suffer with the fluid retention?

RandomMess · 02/03/2023 20:19

Erm doesn't get rid of my breast tenderness unfortunately that is still completely doing its own thing 🤬

As is my bloated stomach 🙄

I absolutely love the progesterone part. Do you take it at night? I take mine just before bed and sleep like a log.

RandomMess · 02/03/2023 20:23

The patches stay on 24/7 for 2 weeks.

Moredarkchocolateplease · 02/03/2023 20:28

@RandomMess thats the best thing about the progesterone for me, I'm sorry it doesn't do the same for you.

I take mine at night @Vlunken@Vlunken. I've just got into bed now and taken them and switched off the light. And empty stomach, I last ate at 5pm.

I feel groggy the next morning.

Although it takes a few days to build. Last night was day nine and thats the first day for this month of HRT that I've slept through from turning off the light to my alarm going off.

My progesterone phase is weird. I get days of this absolute exhaustion, combined with joint pain, and then days when I feel OK. (Or days like today, when I feel physically fine but want to murder everyone. But then again, I've suffered with severe PMT all my fertile life). I'm on Evorel 75 and Utrogestan.

thefactsarefriendly · 02/03/2023 20:37

I take one Utrogestan every night before bed.

I really have no clear sense of how anything I'm taking affects me. I take T as well as estrogel. I now get a period every three weeks and period pain. I just wish my eggs would give up.

TiredArse · 02/03/2023 20:52

Glad to hear it’s not just me, although sorry some of you are also suffering. Wading through treacle is exactly how it feels.

I wonder if utrogestan might be better. I’m not a fan of noresthisterone, the progesterone in everol. I’ve had it before as period delay tablets and it gives me the rage at times.

I suspect I am intolerant to progesterone, always suffered badly with PMT, mastalgia etc etc
