Missed periods and spotting

Hi how are you all? I am nearly 51 and for last few years my periods have been really short between cycles about 19-22 days . I had one at42 days last year . Last summer I started spotting between periods so got referred and internal and external scan and biopsy of womb in October . All ok apart from a condition called adenmytosis (where muscle grows inside womb) like endometriosis but inside womb .

Anyway since my biopsy I had 2 really heavy periods with flooding then not had a period since 19 Dec about 66 days which unheard off However since last week have had some pink and brown spotting each day but still no period . Not pregnant

Could this be a symptom of perimenopause ? I assume it is . Should I see doctor again ? Not sure what that would do as I already had scans etc but just seems ages and why the brown spotting ?

Anyone had long gaps periods with spotting . Not sure what to expect in lead up to menopause?

Sounds like what happened with me at 51, missing periods to every other month 3 times so 6 months, then further apart with brown spotting in between (old blood). I then went 12 months and had my last period which oddly lasted about 10 days.

I'd check in with your GP because it's been a while since the last bleeding issue. They'll want to know

Thanks for reply . I think my period might be starting now but who knows … light bleed today

And today no bleed . So strange . Must be hormonal. Just interesting to know if others had months with no periods and hardly any bleeding . Gone from 21 days cycle to 60 plus now with no real period yet ??
