I'm well into peri, with many symptoms, but the biggest issues have been sleep and loss of libido. For nearly 2 years I average around 3-4 hours max of sleep a night. Interest in sex had disappeared completely.

I've been on HRT (gel) since mid-dec and 2 weeks ago they upped my dose. Sleep is still an issue but suddenly tonight I've been here dozing off and had the most vivid dream 😉 Could this be the return???

Sadly sleep still hasn't improved but I'm told that's one of the last things to fall into place.

For me sleep was the very first symptom that was sorted, I’ve always been a good sleeper but was struggling to fall asleep then having awful nightmares. I guess we’re all different.
How is your brain fog/ clarity of thought? Along with labido, testosterone is the hormone supposed to help those symptoms in particular.
Sleep well tonight, hope you have another dream!

Apply the gel on a morning if you don't already. It can be a stimulant and some women report weird dreams with disturbed sleep if taken pm. It says it doesn't matter when it's taken but I know women whive swapped to a.m and their sleep has improved massively.

I found that alcohol was giving me an agitated sleep, so stopped drinking.
Magnesium has been a big help too

I agree with @CrystalMaisie, my sleep problems disappeared very soon after starting HRT. Still no signs of my libido reappearing over 12 months later … 😫

Which type of magnesium do you take?

NotLovingWFH · 20/02/2023 07:13

Have been using Testin gel for almost a year now and it seems to have nothing except be yet another thing to remember to do every day. Oh and increase body hair, but libido - nada.

My sleep improved almost instantly once I started utrogestan at night. I also take magnesium (cheap, amazon, comes in a bag). Not drinking helps too. I use one pump of gel in the am and one in the pm.
