Lenzetto and Utrogestan - help!!

Hi all,

After having horrible peri symptoms for the last few years I have finally started on the above two days ago.

One spray of lenzetto in the day everyday, and one tablet at bedtime for 25 days of a 28 day cycle.

I have been reading up about it and apparently I should only be taking ultrogestan as stated if I haven’t had a period for over a year. I still have monthly periods.

Have they prescribed this incorrectly? I started both the first day of my period. Yesterday I was much heavier than normal then it strangely just stopped more or less. Then there is my mood… keep bursting into tears for no reason, fine one minute, crying next on repeat every 20 minutes.

So tired and slept 10 hours both nights when I usually have 6 hours.

Please could anyone offer advice for a very confused hormonal mess?!

I think the amount of utro is correct but the dosage instructions aren't. If you're not a year after your last period it's usually x2 a night from day 15-26 of your cycle. That gives you a bleed. Your regime is for menopausal women seeking to keep the womb lining thin. Diane Danzebrink runs a great meno FB group where you can get lots of advice. She's also on insta.

@margegunderson thank you. I thought as much. So angry I have been waiting all this time and they have messed it up!

Maybe go and talk to the pharmacy if it's tricky to get a gp appt? They could also get a message back to the surgery. But for goodness sake - it's not rocket science is it? We have to be our own advocates so much with HRT it's just silly

I tried pharmacy and she was none the wiser, so rang docs and got a phone apt.

I explained everything, she was so apologetic! Said she would be having words with nurse practitioner that prescribed as clearly incorrect.

I told her how low I have been feeling today, she said it is totally understandable given I took the tablets at this point in my cycle. Explained this month may possibly be a bit of a mess physically and mentally and we should wait until next month to see how I am going.

no more tablets until day 15 ( so 12 days from now).

Glad you're sorted

There are so many examples on this thread of nurses prescribing HRT and clearly many of them are clueless. (As are so many GPs.)

Unless they have been on a British Menopause Society HRT prescribing course (and passed it) they ought to be kept well clear of HRT!

This is SUCH a basic part of her- sequential or combined continuous- that any HCP should not be allowed to prescribe unless they know what's what.

Shocking.

I totally agree.

I was such a state yesterday, so so down and felt so hopeless. I was crying one minute and angry the next, my poor dp.

feel better today, must be not having the tablet last night.
