Anyone have experience of perimenopause and headaches?

What were the headaches like for you?

I've been experiencing headaches for a few weeks now. I've been to my GP and also opticians this past week. Nothing is jumping out - the GP ordered blood tests as a precaution and a repeat appointment.

The headaches are there most morning when I wake up. One side of my head and behind my eye. Does that sound like a migraine? Menopause related?

I'm getting lots of headaches and some migraines in peri. They are linked to certain times in my cycle so I am sure they are hormonal.

I go dreadful migraines as a teenager that went away when puberty was over. I then rarely got a headache for the next 30 years until the hormone disruption started again.

Yes I get migraines that link in with my premenstrual stage of the cycle but not daily. I have sumatriptan and amitriptyline for my migraines/headaches because post-Covid I did have at the beginning have daily migraine headaches with vertigo, I also had prochlorperazine for the vertigo symptoms at its worst.

DH had daily headaches very similar to yours he had a sleep apnoea assessment and now has CPAP which has helped. He is a loud snorer. He also takes nortriptyline for cluster headaches after referral to a neurologist for his headaches.
