So confused: peri/HRT/bleeding

I posted a few months ago but I’m starting this on a new thread hopefully to be a bit clearer.

I’m in my late 40s and almost a year into Evorel Sequi. GP prescribed at first appointment for pretty classic peri symptoms, including irregular periods.

The night sweats/hot flushes/general feeling of crapness resolved really quickly. Periods steadied a bit into a monthly cycle in line with the patches, but now are wonky again - 40 day cycle now followed by 16 day one

is this normal, or should I be speaking to GP about irregular bleeding? I suppose my question is - should I expect HRT to give me a dependable cycle, or is that just not what it does?

Resurrecting this thread as I have the same question
Did you get any answers Op?

No, still very confused.

After a 16 day cycle, the next one was 44 days.

🤷🏼‍♀️

I posted a very similar message here several months ago.

I am on evorel patches and utrogestan capsules. .I thought my 'period' was meant to arrive at some point towards the end of the pill phase or just after, but basically there is no rhyme or reason to it.

I asked the doctor and they didn't seem to be fussed about it. She just said that bleeding could occur at any point or not at all - the inference being there was nothing to worry about.

Still annoying though as I thought that HRT would at least regulate these things!

Thanks, that’s quite reassuring!

It’s weird isn’t it to go from a lifetime messaging of “get any unusual or irregular bleeding checked out” to “lols, who knows, whatever”.

I naively thought that regular progesterone would at least cause some attempt at a “cycle”, but obviously not and my knackered old ovaries will wheeze and creak through their last few months regardless.

'Knackered and wheezing ovaries' sums it up! 🤣

It’s a relief to know my knackered ovaries aren’t alone 😂
Im on a 42 cycle followed by a 15 day one - sigh
