I've asked GP for menopause help several times and just get fobbed off by receptionist or nurse with looking at websites or some app where you log symptoms but then that goes to no one so what's the point?

Can't usually get a GP appointment. When finally got one the other day it was a phone call with a man who was English second language who didn't understand what I was telling him. He then said... look at website.

Some days all I want to do is drive myself into a wall and end it all and I'm scared one day I just will.

Should I just give up and hope it all goes away?

You poor thing, it's scandalous that it can be so difficult to get help.

Don't give up. I think you have a couple of options here.

If you can afford it, get a private consultation with a menopause specialist.

Or, have a good read through this board on MN and the ones 'helpfully' suggested by your GP and decide what you think you might need, based on your symptoms.

Do you want HRT? Read up on it so you know the different types available.

Then speak to your GP again and ask for exactly what you want. Be assertive and insistent, don't let them fob you off.

Best of luck, remember you don't have to put up with this Flowers

Write to the practice manager. Demand an appointment with someone experienced in menopause matters and HRT.

Insist you’re given HRT.
