Heavy/crampy feeling after meno pause

It's 5/7 years since I had periods (stopped for 2 years bled twice then stopped)

The last few days my uterus has that heaviness. And slight crampy feeling I recall from just before period starts. I feel similar too. Uncomfortable and like I want a hot water bottle and chocolate (something I don't eat much off)

I am on HRT but my sleep has been poor lately. Any suggestions as to what this can be? Made the mistake of googling. So decided to try some real people.

I saw this post and really hoped there would be some replies!

I too have what feels like period pains almost 2 years after my last period.

I’m using Ovestin and wondered if that could make my fibroids ( I have lots even after an embolisation) grow but all my online research says no. I am not taking HRT due to fibroids.

I talked to my GP who sent me for a scan. All they could see was fibroids - no ovaries or endometrium - so that wasn’t reassuring at all as no explanation for the pain was offered.

A previous scan showed an ovarian cyst. Also, I have read that post menopausal endometriosis is a thing and wondered if it could be that. I have asked my GP for a referral to see a gynaecologist but where I live there are no appointments to be had for the foreseeable future.

If anyone else has similar symptoms and has had a diagnosis I would love to hear from you. I am feeling stressed about this in case it’s something more serious that I shouldn’t wait 6 months plus to see a specialist about.

Good luck @SomersetDeb. For me its just that "pre period" sensitivity so I don't know I need specialists. Sounds like you do though.

I lovely ladies . I’m 55 not had a period in 8 years . Got bloods done at beginning of year and it showed I was pre diabetic . Of course I went to see about this and was given HRT although I only ever had odd hot flush . Anyway took unwell at work horrible feeling and some pain in chest . I’ve had this all checked and heart is fine . Since all this I’m off HRT and still get pain in chest . Hot flushing worse , cold , headaches , nausea , sore back , acid reflux bloating in stomach , anxiety and it goes on . 5 months have been pretty tuff , Has anyone else experienced this

That sounds like a lot to deal with. I've found HRT working well for me so not much help but hope others can.

Hi AyrshireLiz - I am new to the forum, but have a lot of experience with endometriosis, had a hysterectomy and menopause. I would look at going back on the HRT, but you really need to find the right balance of what works for you. It can be a long journey, but worth it as it can be a life saver. If you are pre diabetic look at your diet to help with that. And try HRT options like the patch, gel or Tablet. I have found the HRT that is absorbed through the skin is far
better with less side effects.

Hi has anyone ever had marina coil I am peri menopause had marina 6 months ago and my moods are awful plus have put over 1 stone on in weight I want the coil removing
