Pubic hair loss - bald patch

I’m 53, peri-menopausal. Going to doctor next week for a few things and wonder if this is worth mentioning to them or is it just another menopause thing - a largish smooth bald patch in the centre of my pubic hair. Approx 3cm diameter.

I am aware that hair thins in menopause but this is not thinning, it’s just gone. Also have a recent bald patch on one eyebrow.

So I suppose just wondering if anyone else had bald patch rather than just thinning? Grateful for any replies!

This happened to me - started gradually losing it from the top since my mid-50s and now only have about a quarter left. I'm 60 now.

I have a bald patch too. Right in the middle like a monks head.

😂Yes! That’s the best description!

Does it all go? I’m actually quite excited for this.

Thanks, so it’s not that unusual then. I have a balding area on one eyebrow also, was half-thinking it might be thyroid-related. I have an older sibling with issues.

It comes out the chin instead in my case.

Thyroid issues show as loss of hair on the outer eyebrow I think

Yes, that seems to be the case. I have been googling. All the weight gain, tiredness etc could equally be peri-meno too. I suppose a bit of me was hoping the weight was thyroid related, not just too chocolate…

Fudge I have this but also a mole! I’m going mons pubis bald!

Mykittensmittens · 05/02/2023 22:56

Same. For a while I thought it was my constant wearing of skinny jeans and the friction of seams. Which is ridiculous. Clasping at
straws.

whilst it’s disappearing from the middle, it’s now growing abundantly down the sides. And it’s white. which is absolutely stupid. My knicker line is disappearing in hair which I shave close every week. The middle bit is peachy smooth and naked. It’s bordering on absurd.

and at the same time I no longer have to pluck or wax my eyebrows, and only shave under my arms once a month, but the hair growing out of my nose seems to have overtaken all of that.

really glamorous!

Join the club- at least we're 'fashionable' 😉. Joke!!

Yes, this is what’s happening to me too! Creeping out on to my legs. FFS!

Yep, I’ve got one too. Looks like a monk’s head 🤣

GlomOfNit · 07/02/2023 11:23

Heh, my bald patches are on the sides of my outer labia! I can't see them (ahem, can't see my pubes past my belly anyway) but can feel how smooth they now are. But I've had inner thighs like a faun's for about a decade 😂 so I'm not hair-depleted. My chin needs close examination with varifocals on every other day because those buggers are FAST!

But getting hairier/less hairy I can cope with. I'd prefer some help with energy and libido, please.

If you have hrt with testosterone gel in addition, you could apply the gel to the bald patch

Dogsgottabone · 07/02/2023 12:17

Mine has gone grey. I feel so sick when I see it, I've started trimming it for the first time in my adult life, I can't bear the sight of it. I'm 44.
