Endometriosis - anyone on HRT?

Diagnosed with endo over 20 years ago. Am not on any endo management nor have I been for the last 18 years. Basically quit work to manage pain and fatigue and became sahm which helped. I still have incredibly painful periods plus a painful day of ovulation. I still have both ovaries and my uterus. I am not on any meds of any kind.

I am almost 49 and am definitely peri-menopausal. I do not feel like myself, I am over emotional and cry at anything and everything, I get the rage which shocks me as I am not a person easy to anger. I have brain fog where I forget how to spell simple words. I have hormonal headaches daily which I only used to get when I was due on. I have started to have trouble sleeping at times.

I have read Davina's book Menopausing and Dr Louise Newsam says she advises being referred to a menopause specialist as HRT can kick off more endo symptoms. I haven't contacted my GP yet but have found a private consultant who specialises in both endo and menopause but I would like to try the free NHS route if possible. I did take GnRh analogues for 6 months to put my body into a chemical menopause in my late 20s where I was prescribed add back HRT at the time. I still had visible endo deposits (seen in surgery) despite that course of treatment.

Thank you for getting this far. I was hoping someone on here who has endo might be able to shed some light on what they went through with getting prescribed HRT. GP or specialist? Low dose? Which one? etc.
