Hi everyone! I’ve been on HRT for nearly 6 months now (post menopause) and it’s been going really well. I’m pretty much back to nearly normal and sleep much better, like pre children days! I’m on continuous HRT: Climara 50 estrogen patches and Prometrium 1 x capsule per night (called Utrogestan in the UK). The only problem is I’ve just noticed this tingling burning feeling in my month which last nearly all day. I also wake up so thirsty with quite a dry mouth! Since starting Prometrium I would get this side effect for the first few minutes after taking the capsule. The feeling would eventually stop and I wouldn’t have it the next day. However, for the last two days I have had this feeling in my month all day and I’m getting a bit tired of it. It could be from the Climara estrogen patch as I do get that same side effect for the first 30 minutes or so after putting a new patch on each week.
Has anyone else has this reaction? I’m seeing a menopause specialist in late March, but I’m reluctant to change my HRT prescription as it took me about 3months to find the right type and I can only take body identical progesterone. Thank you! 😀
