Peri - anyone been having extremely long periods?

  1. Just after christmas I had a period which started the day after having sex, which went on for 18 DAYS! It would have been longer if the doc didn't give me Provera tablets for 10 days, then four days after finishing the tabs it started again.

Is this hormones or do I have something seriously wrong? Is this part of peri? I'm so tired and sick of it! Also been having migraines, though that's nothing new.

I had a period for just over 3 weeks in the summer. I ended up having everything checked at the docs including a smear test which I was due for anyway and it all came back clear. I've also been getting low-level migraines which knocked me out for about 12 hours each time. Definitely peri for me.

@TheFTrain Good to know that yours is clear :)
I'm hoping it is just hormones and not something like an sti. I have to go for a sexual health screening, an ultrasound, urine test and I've just had a smear test. Hoping it's not serious, if its just hormones/peri I can deal with it, anything else is Confused

Anaemia lengthens periods, thereby worsening the anaemia, and so on.
