before Xmas I finally decided to do something about my increasing list of peri-menopause symptoms, convinced my GP I wasn’t depressed, and got a script for Evorel Sequi patches to try. they specify to start using with 5 days of your period starting……decided not to use them in December as I read a post about someone feeling dizzy on them and it was Xmas and I had a lot of driving to do……awaiting January’s period to start them and it’s only gone AWOL. Literally AWOL!!
a year ago I was down to an average of 23 days cycle with some months as short as 18. Now when I actually want it to arrive I’m on day 40…….40!!! I’ve used the white towels at work, been for a long run, slept on clean sheets, slept on clean sheets at a friend’s house, went out without any sanitary protection when I was due on……I’m running out of ideas (sadly don’t own any white jeans!)……it’s like my womb knows something is lined up for it!
just needed a rant ;)

Your post made me laugh. Book a holiday, the 1st day of a holiday aways caught me out.

@emmathedilemma I like your style!

You can slap your patch on now.
In an ideal world, you should time it with your own cycle. But in peri you could be waiting months for Day 5.

The only reason for Day 5 is to try to synch the progestogen part with your own in the 2nd half of the month.

In time, HRT overrides your cycle and you have an HRT cycle, so just crack on. or slap on.

Never heard of anyone feeling dizzy on patches (some women feel dizzy after taking Utrogestan but that's another thing altogether and usually 'cos they have taken it too early and not bedtime.)

thanks @JinglingSpringbells I was reading the instructions leaflet again last night and it said to start any time if you have an irregular cycle so I guess this counts as irregular now 28-24-24 -25-18-30-40
I might have one last push and go swimming tonight!

I don't know why but this really makes me laugh! I'm so far beyond regular cycles. I only had 5 or 6 periods last year - literally it was just really hard to tell if the 5th one ever really ended, and it's been 3 ish months since my most recent one, so I've forgotten about all the annoying times it would appear. Swimming is a good shout. Also can you arrange a date, a cervical smear or to go camping?

Fwiw, i did try these patches last year and gp didn't tell me to wait until after a period. Good luck to you!

Camping or a smear?? It’s not that desperate a situation!! 🤣
