Mirena

I've used Mirena since perimenopause 13y ago, and I'm wondering how much longer I will use it. I have no intention of ever stopping HRT, but wonder whether I will have to switch eventually to another form of progesterone.

Mirena has been around for 20-25y, so there could conceivably be women in their 70s using it. Are there? What's it like at that age?

Good question! I never thought that far ahead! I’d be interested in hearing replies.

I’ve had mine 7 years. I guess a medication that has to be administered once every 5 years might be a reason to stick with it!

Maybe your GP could shed some light!

I don't know the answer but interested to find out. I've had my Mirena just over a year and I'm 46.
