Poor memory would testosterone help

When I say poor memory I mainly mean at work where multitasking is key.
I changed jobs for less hours yet still I forget silly things.
Forget I made coffee,or burn toast. I am a creature of habit so I do most things by routine.I find this helps.
Would testosterone help sharpen my thinking.

I've been on testosterone for about 2 months. Has made no difference to my memory ... yet!

Keep hoping though!

Was also hoping for some muscle mass. I train every day but can't see any difference yet either.

Libido and lubrication through the roof though!

whatisforteamum · 21/01/2023 11:14

Thank you.I still might try it though.😀

It's horrendous eh? Words disappearing from your head. Feeling slightly stupid all the time.

I'm getting my bloods done to see if my testosterone levels have gone up. I was 0.5 so pretty damn low.

Got to me honest, I was prescribed one 1 pea size portion every other day. I do it every day!

Memory still shit!

If you go to (phone) GP download the NICE guidelines. My GP wasn't having any of it and I had to wait to see a gyno at hospital. 🙄

My mate in the town next to me got prescribed it by her GP right away.

So annoying that different GPs take different stances.

DrFoxtrot · 21/01/2023 11:25

In our area testosterone has to be prescribed by secondary care first. It's annoying for patients but we have to follow the instruction. Also testosterone is used mainly for loss of libido in menopause so you won't or shouldn't get it for memory loss. Mention the libido side of it when you go and that could increase your chance of being able to try it.

BlueBooh · 21/01/2023 11:31

Yes good point. Make sure you mention the libido part not the memory part!

Read the NICE guidelines.

I didn't even have a partner when I asked for it, but still said I had low libido.

I have a partner now, and my god the difference in organisms is incredible. I hadn't realised how "weak" they'd been previously.

BlueBooh · 21/01/2023 11:31

Orgasm!! Obviously!

JinglingSpringbells · 21/01/2023 12:03

You can't use testosterone without being on HRT first @whatisforteamum (assume you know this and are?!)

I don't think it's prescribed for memory.

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 21/01/2023 12:07

Just getting my whole HRT package right has helped me keep a grip on things - and if you don't have enough oestrogen then testosterone will just be converted to that, so you do need your other HRT optimised first.

The only difference I've noticed with testosterone is the transformation of my libido. But maybe I've been to busy to see other benefits .

whatisforteamum · 21/01/2023 16:47

I'm on 4 pumps of oestrogel and utrogestan. Been on it since 2019.

I’ve noticed a huge difference in organism 😆 strength too, it’s actually worth the effort to have sex now. Wonder if that’s down to increased muscle strength or something else?
