Hi did you ever get sorted with your hrt dose?

Joanne73460 · 01/10/2023 20:50

No still waiting for an appointment with a specialist as my GP insists I need specialist care? I've been waiting since March I've recently been in touch with GP again as my anxiety and mental health has been really impacted my hot sweats really severe to the point where I thought I was going to pass out and I'm really confused about my periods before hrt I was on mini-pill with no problems and no periods I'd been on that one for 8-10 years now still on pill and everol sequi had a period January then one July (so six months apart) now having another only 2 months apart but hasn't given me any help just told to wait for the appointment although did prescribe me sertraline but I'm unsure I want to go down that road

That’s ridiculous. You need to call GP and insist on speaking to someone. Is there a nurse who can dispense even? I was on Sandrena gel and Utrogestan (progesterone) and after a year or so symptoms began creeping back and I just spoke to someone else at the surgery who suggested I had a higher dose of the gel and immediately that worked.
i guess if you have other conditions you may need a specialist but if it is just for HRT I would really insist.
it could be sorted really quickly and I agree you don’t want to take sertraline unless really necessary

Exact same thing happened on patches for me, felt wonderful for 2 months then went back to normal. Didn't want to increase and increase so came off hrt altogether.

Me too, although I never really found patches or gel worked on the symptoms, they so were awful. I came off everything and now the aching and periods are debilitating. But amazingly mood wise i'm almost on a high all the time! The only thing I haven't tried is the coil. Will that help with the periods? Thanks
