I'm peri menopause and I'm going mad with lack of sleep and anxiety. Other symptoms are nothing compared to this I'm waking multiple times through the night and with the anxiety it's crippling.

Can someone please tell me this all settles down after menopause?
And regarding hrt how long do you stay on it? And do you not have to go through all the symptoms when you do stop taking it?

It might help to do a bit of reading around all of this. Dr Louise Newson has a very informative site- Balance- and there are some good podcasts on the Liz Earle Wellbeing site.

TBH no one can tell you how you will be.

I can guarantee posters will come along and say they were all done and sorted in a few years. On the other hand, some aren't. My consultant has women in their 80s and 90s still on HRT as their symptoms last for life (without it.)

You don't go through the menopause twice. (Dr Newson's site cover this.) If you stop HRT and have symptoms, then those symptoms would have been there without hrt.

No one 'goes through the menopause'. Post menopause is a stage of the rest of your life. But not everyone has the same symptoms.
